How to add or adjust holiday dates?

  1. Select Management from the left-hand menu and then School Settings.

  2. Choose the relevant academic year.

  3. On the Academic Year tab, click Add new holiday, type a name for the holiday (e.g. Autumn half-term) select the relevant dates and then Add holiday.

How does Sparx Science use holiday dates?

When you apply a scheme of learning to a class, we will automatically push back the due date for any homework that would be due in a holiday week.

For example:

  • A class has homework set on Wednesday and due on Tuesday.

  • Half-term in the school is from 12th to 16th February.

  • The homework set on Wednesday 7th February is due in on Tuesday 20th rather than on the 13th during half-term.

Note: these dates are shared across Sparx systems and so you may find that your maths department have already added your holiday dates. Any changes you make will also be used when creating Schemes of Learning in Sparx Maths.
