There are several ways to turn homework off in Sparx Science depending on your needs - whether it's for specific weeks, during holidays, or permanently for classes or individual students.
Turn homework off for a class for a specific week

Go to Planner and choose the specific class from the drop down menu in the top left hand side
Select the week you want to turn off
Click the Homework Type dropdown and choose Off
A pop up box will then give you the option 'move this topic to the next available week', or to 'remove this topic'. You will need to select one of these before then clicking on Turn off homework to save.
When homework is turned off in Planner, the previous week's homework will still be due during the no-homework week, so you'll need to edit the due date if you'd like it to be due after that week.

Adding no-homework weeks to a scheme of learning turns homework off for those weeks, for every class using the scheme. This is helpful if you don't want homework set or due during school holidays.
Go to Schemes of Learning
Click Actions > Create draft on the relevant scheme
Scroll to the holiday weeks
Use the Homework slider and toggle to Off
Publish your changes
Note:
When homework is turned off during holidays, any homework set before the holiday will now be due after the holiday.
Re-publishing a scheme of learning will override any changes that have been made over time in individual planners, so ideally this is best used at the beginning of the year.

The best way to turn homework off permanently for a whole class is to remove the Scheme of Learning.
To remove the scheme of learning from a class:
Go to Management > Class Manager
Select the pencil icon next to the class you wish to edit
Under Scheme of Learning, select None on the drop down menu
Select Preview Changes
Check the detail in the pop up box carefully, and click Update once you are sure

The best way to turn homework off permanently for multiple classes at once is to remove the Scheme of Learning.
To remove the scheme of learning from multiple classes at once:
Go to Management > Class Manager
Tick the boxes for all the classes you wish to turn off (or alternatively select the very top box which will select every class)
Select Edit selected classes
Under Scheme of Learning, select None on the drop down menu
Select Preview Changes
Check the detail in the pop up box carefully, and click Update once you are sure

On their Details page, scroll to Sparx Science settings
For Homework type select Off
