Using homework insights

How to use the Insights page to identify gaps in understanding and deliver whole-class feedback

The Insights page highlights questions that students struggled with, and has two sections:

Key Flashcards

  • The top 4 flashcards that students struggled with in this week's homework.

  • The number of students who have seen those flashcards, and how many of those struggled (didn't get them correct first time).

  • You can present all four of these at once on the board, so you could use them at the start of your lessons to support quick recall.

Key Questions

  • The number of students who have seen those questions, and how many of those struggled (didn't get them correct first time).

  • The five longer questions students have struggled with (like the previous "follow-up five").

  • You can present these one at a time so that they are easier to read on a board and dig into with your students in lessons.

Using Key Flashcards

  • You can view All subjects, or filter to see only one science subject by selecting the relevant tab (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Skills)

  • You can also select Presentation view to display all of the questions on the screen in one go, or Print to print out all the questions.

  • You can still view the science subjects all together or separately in the Presentation View, and you choose between question, fact and answer for each flashcard question.

  • You can expand individual cards and cycle through them

Using Key Questions

  • You can view All subjects, or filter to see only one science subject by selecting the relevant tab (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Skills)

  • You can click down the left side to view the questions

  • You can select 'show answer'

  • You can also select Presentation view to display all of the questions on the screen in one go, or Print to print out all the questions.

  • You can still view the science subjects all together or separately in the Presentation View, where we'll display one question to ensure good sizing, and you can then choose between question, and answer for each key question, as well as cycle through the questions

Why are there no questions showing in Follow-up five?
