Sparx Science has content which covers the entire KS3 and KS4 secondary science curriculum.
KS3
KS3 is aligned with the statutory national curriculum but has topics on additional areas which are commonly taught between Year 7 and Year 9. Every KS3 topic comes with a description of the key learning points that are covered in the topic.
GCSE
We support GCSE with bespoke curriculums aligned to the Edexcel and AQA GCSE specifications. Each topic comes with a description of the specification points covered in the topic. For AQA, these align with the trilogy course rather than the synergy course.
Topics and individual questions may also have higher or separate tags which match the relevant specification. These allow you to set work for students which is aligned with the exam they are due to sit. See How to set up Sparx Science for students on different courses.
Our content bank at GCSE includes individual topics covering each of the required practicals. These have a greater focus on working scientifically skills. These can be found by browsing the topics in the relevant part of the hierarchy, or searching for “Practical:”.
Maths skills for science
At both KS3 and GCSE, we have a collection of topics called “Maths skills for science”, found alongside the physics units. These cover the core maths skills required on the science curriculum, drawing on examples from all three sciences.
